It's your job as a copy-editor or proofreader to ensure that material is clear, consistent, complete and credible, and that text is well written, grammatically correct and accessible. You'll take the initial material, or the copy, and make it ready for publication.

You may be required to correct spelling, grammar and layout (proofreading), check content, impose consistent styles and reword or rewrite

Science / Medical Writers

Medical Writer’s primary area of responsibility will be supporting the writing of major breakthroughs in the areas of diabetes, obesity and cardiovascualar disorders. The writer should have at least PhD with postdoctoral experience in the area of writing. We seek a talented, intelligent and curious science writer who will be delivering first drafts of manuscripts.

Persons with strong editorial skills and be able to meet word counts without losing content validity, be able to integrate feedback from multiple authors and write according to journal requirements.

Journal Development Manager

You will be required to work closely with scholarly societies and Editors for the development of new journals for DiscoverSys. The Journal Development Manager position requires an ability to quickly analyze large volumes of information, arrive at solution-oriented decisions, and focus on strategies that bring new journals to DiscoverSys platform.

Good experience within academic publishing, the journal manager will liaise and develop relationships with very high-profile scholars, will manage and supervise 1-3 members of the editorial office team, and will devise and implement editorial strategies with the goal of increasing the market share of the portfolios.

Dr. Chris Carter, PhD, RN.

Dr. Carter is a medical professional with over 10 years of research experience in the Health Sciences, an award winning adult educator, and a licensed registered nurse with experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As a subject matter expert Neurology, Diabetes, Oncology, Gastrointestinal, Inflammation/Pain and Cardiovascula disorders Dr. Carter aims to bridge the gap between basic and clinical research

Dr. Sridhar Natesan, PhD

Dr. Natesan is a senior researcher at the institute of Psychiatry at the Department of Psychosis Studies, King's College London. With an immense expertise in Neuroscience and Psychiatry, Dr. Natesan focuses on mechanism of action of antipsychotics in preclinical models involving pharmacological, behavioural, determination of brain receptor occupancy, immunohistochemical & neuroimaging techniques.

Mr. Robert Rogers, Bsc

Mr. Rogers is an assistant clinical professor at the department of family medicine, University of Alberta and professional member of the American Herbalist Guild and author of over 40 books on medicinal plants of Western Canada. He has taught plant medicine for over 30 years, and is an avid fan of our indigenous plants and mushrooms. Robert has been involved in the health field for over 30 years and had a clinical herbal practice for 18 years (retired). He works as a consultant to various boards and industries advising growers and creating herbal formulas.

Dr. Carlie Charron, PhD

Dr. Charron holds a docorate in Organic Chemistry and Molecular Imaging from the Department of Chemistry, The University of Western Ontario. During her postdoctoral stint Dr. Charron developed novel methods for native chemical ligation using silver at the Bio21 Institute, University of Melbourne. Dr. Charron's other interests include Structure-Activity-Relationship studies, Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis, Small Molecule Organic Synthesis, PET and other imaging techniques for drug disovery and development.

Dr. Frank Fan, MD, PhD

Dr. Fan is the founder and CEO of Nanjing Legend Biotechnology Company, the world's leading biotech company in treating multiple myeloma with an innovative CAR-T immunogenetherapy. Afer completing his MD in China and his PhD in Hiroshima, Japan, Dr. Fan worked with Dr. Lor West on human and murine studies of immunologic questions related to ABO-incompatibility and B cell tolerance at the University of Alberta. Dr. Fan currently focusses on novel biological therapies for the treatment of Multiple Myeloma particularly employing innovative CAR-T products.

Dr. Vanu Ramprasath, PhD

Dr. Ramprasath has more than thirteen years of research expertise in human clinical nutrition to develop functional foods and nutraceutical products and in understanding their mechanisms, including leading the research team at Richardson Centre for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals. He has a proven track record of successful clinical trial research, both as a team and in collaboration with other institutional and industrial researchers. In addition to a multitude of published peer reviewed articles and reviews, he has also co-authored a manual on how to conduct a human trial with foods for preparing a submission for food health claims which was published by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
